I was at the punk festival and I can remember there was a record store there and I bought Patti Smith’s 12” Gloria single. The punk band Slaughter And The Dogs threw out 100s of badges into the crowd, I lost mine now. The Damned never turned up as they were not going to be paid but latter on felt guilty and did a free show at the Chancellor Hall. Mark and Susan Harrison came latter in the evening, they had been watching Anglia News and found out that anyone could get in for nothing as all the officials had gone home as they were not going to be paid.. Despite all problems this show goes down as the first ever Punk Festival Ever, last year I was watching Blue Peter who were looking back at 1977 and they showed a clip of the concert so that proves it.
